Pampering and Prose with A Court of Thorns and Roses

Week two of my new feature! Check out week one if you missed it. The Stripper and Midnight Crossroads!

I need to gush about Complexion Perfection. This face wash is BOSS! I love the little scrubbing exfoliators. The exfoliators are made of walnut shells and there is peppermint essential oil in the wash. It is so rejuvenating in the morning, totally wakes me up! It is only $16 and lasts forever because all you need is a pea-sized amount! I follow it up with I'm Shrinking and Moisturize 911.

A thrilling, seductive new series from New York Times bestselling author Sarah J. Maas, blending Beauty and the Beast with faerie lore.

When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a beast-like creature arrives to demand retribution for it. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she only knows about from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not an animal, but Tamlin—one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled their world.

As she dwells on his estate, her feelings for Tamlin transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie and warning she's been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But an ancient, wicked shadow grows over the faerie lands, and Feyre must find a way to stop it . . . or doom Tamlin—and his world—forever.

Perfect for fans of Kristin Cashore and George R. R. Martin, this first book in a sexy and action-packed new series is impossible to put down!
I love Sarah's Throne of Glass series, so I was super excited to get my hands on A Court of Thorns and Roses. I LOVE fairy tale re-tellings, especially the character arc of the "beast" in a Beauty and the Beast re-telling. I felt like Feyre was a little bit like Katniss right away and then really took on more of her own. I loved Tamlin and am so excited to see how his character grows. I guess that gruff man thing really works on me! I liked the world building, but really felt like it needed a bit more. I think I wanted it to really live up to Throne of Glass and it was right on the edge for me. I love Sarah's writing style and will definitely continue this series.
