Top Ten Tuesday with Books I'd Like to See As Movies

Books vs. movies, it is on of those catch-22 situations. You so badly want to see your beloved book on the big screen, but then it could possibly be ruined by unnecessary changes, bad actors or horrible transitions into screenplay. There are time limits and money limits and lack of imagination. But, then there could be a masterpiece. There are movies like Harry Potter that bring the world to life and make you fall more and more in love with the books and characters. Every bookish movie I see, I automatically want it to live up to Harry Potter. Sometimes they do well, The Fault in our Stars, Divergent but sometimes they are sorely disappointing, The Mortal Instruments and Beautiful Creatures.

So, hoping that the movies can live up to my high standards, here are ten books I would love to see as movies!

  1. I also put Throne of Glass & The Grisha series on my list! In the hands of the right people, I can really see them taking off.
I LOVED Me Before You, but I don't know if I have the emotional wherewithal to see it as a movie... I'm pretty sure I'd sob the whole time.
Here's my Top Ten Tuesday list!

  8. Cinder would be pretty cool as a movie along with all the other books behind it... but with such a great connecting story line I'd almost like to see it as a TV series.

  9. I haven't read most of those books, but I'd vote yes to seeing Cinder and Throne of Glass on screen. Assuming that it is a perfect adaptation of course. And that book mark up there? I think I need to have one. Now to search the web for one.

  10. So far I have seen Throne Of Glass on everyone's list today! I am actually surprised we haven't heard news of it being picked up because I could see it being such a successful movie series if done right. Just the thought makes me excited! Great list!

  11. The only reason I didn't put the Grisha books on my list because I am terrified of it being done so badly. But if it was done well, it would definitely be awesome!

  12. I love that picture at the start comparing the lushness of the book experience as compared to the sparse movie experience. Totally sums things up!

  15. I thought about putting Code Name Verity on my list, but I loved the book so much that I'm afraid any attempt at creating a movie out of it would be a poor attempt. Still, I love the idea of seeing Verity and Kittyhawk on screen. I'm a bit torn.

Thanks for stopping by my TTT.

I haven't read I'll Give You the Sun, BUT I WANT TO. And I know it's so good because of all the raving reviews!

  25. I would love to see the Lunar Chronicles as a movie series (as long as they don't ruin it). And I wouldn't mind seeing the Grisha trilogy as movies because I'm not sure I'll get around to reading them; that way I could still experience the story. :)
