Waiting on Wednesday with Saint Anything

Peyton, Sydney's charismatic older brother, has always been the star of the family, receiving the lion's share of their parents' attention and—lately—concern. When Peyton's increasingly reckless behavior culminates in an accident, a drunk driving conviction, and a jail sentence, Sydney is cast adrift, searching for her place in the family and the world. When everyone else is so worried about Peyton, is she the only one concerned about the victim of the accident?

Enter the Chathams, a warm, chaotic family who run a pizza parlor, play bluegrass on weekends, and pitch in to care for their mother, who has multiple sclerosis. Here Sydney experiences unquestioning acceptance. And here she meets Mac, gentle, watchful, and protective, who makes Sydney feel seen, really seen, for the first time.

The uber-popular Sarah Dessen explores her signature themes of family, self-discovery, and change in her twelfth novel, sure to delight her legions of fans.
I have not read anything by Sarah, so I am excited to check this one out and see what her style is. Saint Anything comes out May 5th.

  1. What a lovely name for a novel. :) I haven't read anything by Sarah Dessen, either.

  3. I have an arc of this one that I will be reading soon. I hope we both enjoy it!
BTW - I've read several of her books and I find them to be... nice. Not that that's a bad thing, but I haven't read anything really exciting by her. If you enjoy contemporaries then you should like this one.

  4. You must read all of Dessen's books. Summer is the perfect time. She is one of my absolute favourites. Two weeks until this one! Just Listen is my favourite favourite of hers. :)
    Happy reading!

  6. I've never read anything by Sarah Dessen either. What really surprises me about this book is that the cover seems so different frim her previosu book's covers...maybe it's just me but I really think all her covers tend to look uniform, and then there's this one, which makes me wonder if maybe this will be something totally new for her? Or maybe I'm reading too much into this, lol. Either way, great pick!

  7. I just won a copy of this one, and it will be my first Sarah Dessen book, although my sister gets to read it first. (I promised her that if I found myself with a copy, she'd get to read it.) Anyway, my sister has read pretty much every Sarah Dessen book, so I'm looking forward to reading this one and then discovering more of her books.

  8. Your new blog design is so stinking cute. You should start a blog design CO. if you're the one making these designs. Can't wait for this one because of the cover and all the buzz it's been getting. I only read one Sarah Dessen book (The Truth About Forever) but like yeahh :D

  11. I have about five or so Sarah Dessen books I need to get to! I've read That Summer and loved so I really need to get to the rest of the books I have by her! And she lives in the next town over from me, which I think is cool.
