Top Ten Popular Authors I've Never Read

http://www.brokeandbookish.com/

This one was pretty easy for me to create a list since I tend to read the same genre over and over. I picked these authors because I have always wanted to read something they wrote, just haven’t gotten around to it yet. It could be because I have a massive TBR list!

  1. James Patterson
  2. Nora Roberts
  3. David Baldacci
  4. Janet Evanovich
  5. V.C. Andrews
  6. Richelle Mead
  7. Kristin Cashore
  8. Kate Atkinson
  9. Kasie West
  10. Sarah J. Maas

  1. I love Kate Atkinson!! I'm currently after her latest book Life after Life! A few of these authors I will be googling....., ;0)

  2. I'm going to be doing a spot of googling here! I'm desperate to read Kristin Cashore too! James Patterson is the only one from this list I've actually read :)

  3. We have one of the same for this list... Richelle Mead.
The only two on this list I've read are... Nora Roberts & Janet Evanovich
I've read one Nora Robert it was meh...
I like Janet Evanovich thought, she's fun.

  4. ooh I'm just as guilty for Richelle Mead and Kristen Cashore-- both are on my TBR list!

I went with YA authors for my TTT!

  5. The few James Patterson, Nora Roberts and Janet Evanovich's books I have read did not impress me. I figure I just have yet to discover what makes them super popular with SO many people. :) I have yet to read Kasie West or Sarah J. Maas either but Kate Atkinson's Life After Life was a truly amazing read. I'm eager to read her other books.

  6. Kristin Cashore and Sarah Maas's books are sitting in my bookcase right now. Both authors I have not read but soon I will! Graceling and Throne of Glass have been on my TBR list for a while now. The only one I've read off your list is V.C. Andrews, Flower in the Attic, which I highly recommend! Great List

  7. Oh man, got to move Maas up on your TBR. So much <3 :)
    Same with West and Mead.
Quite a few on your list that I've yet to get to as well.
    Happy TTT! :D

  8. Good list, I haven't read anything by any of these authors either although I kind of want to read something by V.C. Andrews.

  9. This week was almost like a freebie wasn't it? :) Richelle Mead and Sarah J. Maas are two from your list I think I need to check out as well.

  10. Aah you so have to read the VA series it's so much fun and FYI - NOTHING LIKE THE TRAILER! EEK! I also never read Janet Evanovich and V.C. Andrews. My mom's a big van of the latter, though.

  13. I haven't read most of those either, but have a few on my TBR :)

  14. The only author on your list I have read is Kasie West. I really enjoyed Pivot Point but haven't read any of her other books yet, but they've been highly praised!

  15. I haven't read most of these either. I have read Kristin Cashore, and I really enjoyed her Graceling series. :)

  16. I still have to read Graceling! But I haven't heard of any of the other authors, except maybe James Patterson and Nora Roberts

  17. I have only read James P. I think he is popular because he produces in multiples so even if it is hit or miss your on to the next. His chapters are so short that you get engaged and don't even realise you are flying though the story.

  18. You should give Janet E a go...can be very funny.

  19. Mead's Vampire Academy series was a fabulous and fun read. Also, I enjoyed Graceling a lot.

  20. Nora Roberts is great, if you are looking for a lovely romance. :)

  21. The only person I've read on this list is Nora Roberts (fun but somewhat formulaic). I love the meme at the top of your post!

  22. I'm totally with you. My list was huge and I had to cut it down to 10, but I just don't know when I'm every going to get around to reading some of the authors on my list either, only because I have a massive TBR pile. Thanks for visiting my TTT.

  23. Recently read Throne of Glass and definitely recommend it! Richelle Mead didn't make my TTT list but I haven't read any of her books either. I'm kind of interested in the Vampire Academy series though, with the movie coming out and all. Thanks for stopping by my blog! :)

  29. Sarah J. Maas's books weren't perfect, but they were very fun. I look forward to reading a review of them if you ever read them!

Love your blog design, btw. New follower :)

  31. Nora Roberts surprised me a little bit. Every woman I know has read at least one of her books (except me!). Good picks! There are a few I didn't even think of.

  32. Definitely Vampire Academy! I only just read these last year and I devoured the series in a month. Sarah Maas is also one of my favorite humans (and her books are awesome too!)

  33. I don't think you're missing much with having not read James Patterson. I have only ever read some his young adult novels and one adult novel, but I overall didn't like them much.

  34. I haven't read any of these authors, either, lol. I agree with Kelly above - I doubt we're missing anything from him. ;) I have a friend who adores Nora Roberts, but I don't have any interest in reading her books. They seem too sappy for my taste. I signed up for the Georgina Kincaid read-a-thon hosted by Mostly YA Book Obsessed and Reading Books Like a Boss - it's a series by Richelle Mead, so I'm looking forward to that. And I really need to read Vampire Academy!

  35. I think the only one I've read is James Patterson. A few years ago I was obsessed with him and read a ton of his books. They're really good!

  36. This is a great list! I actually DEVOURED V.C. Andrews in middle school and high school. I was so excited when more books started coming out again and then I read them and they were CRAP and it turned out it was a ghost writer (or whatever they're called) writing under her name. It was NOT the same! So I highly recommend her early stuff. Flowers in the Attic was my least favorite. Ruby (the whole series) was my favorite.

  37. Kate Atkinson's "Life After Life" made my head hurt. It's been weeks since I've finished it and I still can't write a review on it because I just had no idea what I read after all that blather.

Here's my list. We have a couple of similarities. http://readinggoodbooks.wordpress.com/2014/03/04/top-ten-tuesdays-popular-authors-i-havent-read-yet/

  38. I myself only read Janet Evanovich from that list but I really enjoyed her books so it's surprising I have not read more of them

    ReplyDelete
  39. I've only read VC Andrews on your list! Years ago, in middle school, I was caught by the "Flowers in the Attic" bug :)

  40. I can't recommend Richelle Mead enough. Vampire Academy is awesome and Bloodlines is THE BEST.

  41. Sarah Maas is one I need to read myself. Richelle Mead is wonderful in my opinion. Here’s my TTT .

  42. I'm already hooked on Kasie West after just reading Picot Point. For better or worse, V.C. Andrews was a childhood staple of mine. I'm interested to re-read Flowers in the Attic - I imagine I'll have a much different reaction to it as an adult!
